   Proposal Description:
   Recently, preclinical studies have revealed that proton pump inhibitors can promote amyloid beta generation. Epidemiological studies have yielded conflicting results with some reporting no effects on the risk of dementia,       others an increased risk, and others including a NACC study, a protective         effect. Our goal is to determine whether cumulative exposure to proton pump       inhibitors has any impact on cognitive trajectories and severity of               neuropathology within the Alzheimer's disease continuum.
